Stunning detail
Venus and Jupiter sit a Moon’s-width apart on March 1. A 1°-wide field of view will net both planets, plus three Galilean moons. Note that this image shows Venus and Jupiter as seen through a telescope, with north up and east to the left. Jupiter is located southeast of Venus; when looking at the sky with the naked eye, Jupiter will still sit southeast but will appear to Venus' upper left.
