M33 sits in DESI’s field of view at left, which is marked with blue circles that indicate the region of sky that each of the 500 fibers can study. They can be precisely positioned on any target within each blue circle. The color map at right shows the strength of hydrogen emission in the field of view, where brighter colors correspond to stronger emission.
